Join us for a fun-filled class where you will learn how to make an easy and useful apron. This pattern is so simple, we promise that once you make this one, you will make many of these as gifts for just about everyone. Attendees will leave with a completed apron.This is a beginner class. Attendees should be familiar with basic sewing on their own sewing machine and comfortable using a rotary cutter. Experienced sewists will also appreciate making such a fun pattern.Bring your sewing machine and the supplies noted below to the class and be ready to cut and sew. Patterns, fabric and notions listed are available at Western Maine Machines in Scarborough.
- “Mom & Me Aprons” pattern by Atkinson Designs
- Fabric yardage in 3 prints/solids for making an adult sized apron (prewash all fabric pieces in advance to avoid different levels of shrinkage.)
- Focus print for apron front – 3/4 yard
- Lining print – 3/4 yard
- Contrast for pocket, ties and apron yoke – 3/4 yard
- Notions:
- Rotary cutter (self-healing mat, optional)
- Pins or quilting clips
- Thread (matching or contrasting with your fabric)
- Marking pen or pencil
- Measuring tape
- Optional – if you wish to add a 1″ button to the apron yoke, please bring one from home.
